So, as I stated earlier the fourth book published was actually the third book written, or at least a very rough draft of that book. The final copy is the result of several revisions. The theme of this original third book is kindness and following the golden rule.
Let’s talk about the golden rule. I listen to the daily news, not very often I have to admit, but when I do I hear about the chaos in the world and it occurs to me how different that news would be if people would only follow God’s laws. In particular, three basic laws: “A new command I give you: Love one another, As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” and “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” It is very obvious that very few people today do any of these!
As I mentioned earlier, during the forty plus years that I worked with other people’s children, I worked very hard to show each and every one them care and love and respect. Whether I was teaching junior high or high school students, counseling elementary and high school students or even teaching college students as adjunct professor, I treated those children and young adults the way that I would want my own children to be treated. Basically, that was my expanded version of the golden rule.
Biblical Inspiration: Matthew 7:12 – So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them. For this is the Law and the Prophets.
Lesson in a Nutshell: Give your best effort (100%) to help those who need you.
