So, today we go on to retirement –finally right? Anyway, after eight years in a mental health setting, three years in real estate, and thirty-three years in education, I once more felt the Lord telling me to move on and this time I was more than ready to follow. I knew I was not in the right place anymore.
However, I knew that He wasn’t leading me to just go home and quit. I could feel that He had more for me to do. In fact, there turned out to be a lot for me to do but we will only talk about the part which triggered the writing of “Abby Sue, Where Are You?”.
My youngest grandchild was in the second grade so I decided to volunteer at his school and in his classroom. I helped students with reading, math, and writing that year and re-discovered the joy of seeing the light bulb go off in their little minds. I was definitely hooked. The following year I went with him to his third grade classroom plus I helped out a second grade teacher who specifically asked me to help her that year.
There will be more about my return to elementary school coming next time.
Biblical Inspiration: Psalm 143:19 – Tach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Biblical Inspiration: Matthew 19:14 – But Jesus said, suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me; for such is the kingdom of heaven.
Lesson in a Nutshell: Age has nothing to do with our ability to be used by God.
